A Little About Me
I am a Miami girl born and raised in Pinecrest. From an early age, I knew that I wanted to become an educator. Since then, I have had my heart set on awakening the potential of each and every child in my path. Throughout college, I taught at KUMC Preschool for three years. I also had the privilege of running KUMC's Camp Mustard Seed last summer. I am currently teaching 3rd grade at a charter school. As we start to make plans for the 2020-2021 school year, we are excited at the growth and potential of a kindergarten classroom here at KUMC Preschool. KUMC Preschool has always been home to me; there really is no other school like it. If you are looking for a school home for your kindergartener for next school year, please stop by the breezeway on Tuesday, February 18th to meet me and to find out all of the amazing things we have in store for this program! Looking forward to meeting you.
I strongly believe that children learn best in a smaller setting along with a nurturing environment that fosters learning and growth. Children should be seen as a whole which includes their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. My desire is that every child would fall in love with learning and for their curiosity and creativity to be encouraged. When children are engaged with their hands through a hands-on learning approach, they are active participants in their learning which will result in children who enjoy school rather than something to be endured.
